Game Journal #2

Today is November 5th, 2025. This past week, I made progress on a few more games, and even did a bit more writing work on my book. Since I have a habit of replaying old favorites, these minor updates may look similar to each other. Today I’ll be mentioning my activity in the following games:

  • Golden Sun: The Lost Age
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
  • Pokémon TCG Pocket
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A

In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, I’m still leveling up my characters to the maximum level of 99. So far, the 4 characters that became playable in this game made it to the highest level. Of note, the lowest level character was 30 levels behind the first character to reach level 99. There weren’t any new records in terms of high experience point yields in any battles this week.

I got back into the level grind in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Two characters, Forde and Joshua made it to level 20 in their promoted classes. There’s not much else to report here. The next steps are maxing out the levels of the rest of the main cast, then to see a batch of support conversations, and to finally max out the stats of all characters. I’ll also be tinkering around with the game’s multiplayer against the computer at various points of this process.

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, I’m acquiring more cards, and enjoying the new share feature. I try to share back to any player that sends something my way, but often they reach the sharing limit once I receive their gifts. I’m also making some progress on the Celestial Guardians set thanks to this feature. Additionally, I’m playing through the new computer controlled decks to gather more resources a little bit each day.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, I’ve encountered the rust syndicate, and challenged a couple more Rouge Mega Evolutions, with Mega Barbaracle and Mega Mawile taken down. Next up, I’ll challenge Mega Ampharos, and see where the story takes me. Some of the content in this game I’ve seen since the last journal entry has intrigued me, including some scenes and scenarios that make the game’s small world feel more alive than some past entries in this series. The game’s not perfect, but what game is?

And lastly, a small update about my book. I’ve managed to write more to the scene that establishes a connection between the main characters and a character that needed fleshing out in that part of the story. I may have overcome that writing hurdle to wrap up that scene more cleanly, though I’m certain that part of the book needs more edits.

I hope these journal entries are enjoyable to my readers, and I’ll try to keep this up in the near future.
