Today is November 11, 2025. There’s been a little bit of movement on my end in the realm of gaming. I’ve played at least a little bit of the following games since the last post. Here are the game activities worth mentioning:
- Fire Emblem Heroes
- Pokémon Legends Z-A
- Kirby Air Riders Global Test Ride
- Dokapon Kingdom Connect
First up, I settled on taking a break from Fire Emblem Heroes. I gathered enough orbs to summon 40 heroes in one day. I foolishly selected from a summoning pool that only rewarded this task with a 5 star hero if you have the premium pass. Even worse, I didn’t get any 5 star heroes in the process. Since I still open packs in Pokémon TCG pocket daily, I wanted to limit the number of games that require daily logins to keep up with them. I have no idea if I’ll play again at a later date, but the break is much needed.
Next, I’ve made more progress in Pokémon Legends Z-A. I defeated Mega Ampharos, got to rank C (I believe), and defeated 3 more Mega Pokémon, including Frosslass, Altaria, and Venasaur. Now it’s time to grind for the challenge ticket to get to the Rank B promotion match. I’ve got a hunch that I’m nearing the end of the game, but we’ll see. A mini review will be in that journal entry after I complete the main story.

I also played the Kirby Air Riders demo. As a refresher I did review the original game cube game this is a sequel to, and found it wasn’t quite as fun as I remembered it. I’m finding that the demo has similar vibes to the original game. That being said, the demo has limited content in comparison to the full game, and can only be played at select times on the two weekends, so I only had a moment to play a bit of it. Also the demo only has three racing stages in racing mode and only against the computer, while you can play city trial online only with up to 16 other players.
If I remember clearly, I played as Rick, Scarfy, Gooey, Chef Kawasaki, and Waddle Doo (and maybe one more character) each with a different vehicle to see how they played differently. The vehicle seems to alter gameplay than the character does, at least on first impression. I also tried a single game of city trial. I got second place in a challenge where you ride over buttons for points. It’s all familiar territory for one who’s played the original Kirby Air Ride, but I’m curious about the other new features the full game has to offer. Due to financial concerns, I may not get the game upon immediate release.
I suppose I’ll finish this article with the fact that I played Dokapon Kingdom Connect with two friends early this week. In case you don’t know what Dokapon Kingdom is, well, it’s essentially similar to Monopoly, but it also plays like a classic RPG, similar to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. A lot of chaotic things could happen in a session of Dokapon Kingdom. Despite one friend’s character dying at least three times, I got last place due to only saving one town and for getting into medical debt due to an encounter with a shady doctor (thankfully I got healed, but I barely needed it). I intend to play a full campaign of the game with my friends, by hosting a session once or twice a month before a night out with them.
With all that done, I suppose I’ll play more Pokémon Legends Z-A later today. Thanks for reading!
