Yesterday, Nintendo had released a new Nintendo Direct, showcasing new games for the Nintendo Switch. Much of the news will be reported here, with a hint of opinion in the end. So, let’s go over what was announced.
- Super Mario Maker 2 to be released in June 2019
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order releasing Summer 2019
- Box Boy + Box Girl releasing on April 26, 2019
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will update to version 3.0 in Spring
- Joker DLC (from Persona 5) will be in the game by the end of April
- Additional Amiibo (Snake, Simon, Squirtle, Pokemon Trainer, Ivysaur) are on the way in 2019.
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Switch Version) will receive a free update (available now)
- Featuring 2 player co-op
- Paid extra content is also available for purchase (day of the direct)
- Allows you to play one new course now
- The rest will come March 14, 2019
- Featuring 18 courses, including 5 new courses
- A digital bundle will be available too (day of the direct)
- Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night available Summer 2019
- Dragon Quest Builders 2 available July 12, 2019
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age: Definitive Edition available in Fall 2019
- Disney Tsum Tsum Festival available 2019
- Starlink: Battle for Atlas gets a new Update in April 2019
- Features playing as Slippy, Peppy and Falco against the rest of the Star Wolf team not seen in the base game.
- Rune Factory 4 Special (a remastered game) available later this year
- Rune Factory 5 is in development
- Oninaki by Square Enix is available Summer 2019
- Yoshi’s Crafted World (Available March 29, 2019) has a demo now available
- More Details have come to light on Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Available July 26, 2019, previously to be in the Spring):
- More story elements have come to light
- Player is a mercenary with some character customization
- This Character becomes a teacher for one of three houses based on the game’s three countries (player chooses)
- Can guide the students’ skills in some way
- Special edition will also be available
- Tetris 99 is a free, online only downloadable now! (Requires Nintendo Switch Online Membership)
- Dead by Daylight available Fall 2019
- Deltarune Chapter 1 available February 28, 2019 for free
- Daemon X Machina has a free demo available now, players may get an email invite for feedback afterwards. Full game available Summer 2019
- Grid Autosport available Summer 2019
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice available Spring 2019
- Mortal Kombat 11 available April 23, 2019
- Unravel Two available March 22, 2019
- Assassin’s Creed III Remastered available May 21, 2019
- Final Fantasy VII available March 26, 2019
- Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! available March 20, 2019
- Final Fantasy IX is available now
- Astral Chain available August 30, 2019 (from the makers of Bayonetta, with Bayonetta 3 still in development)
- A remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be available in 2019
All in all, this Nintendo Direct had a lot of good games revealed. I do want to know more about some of the highlights, but that will have to wait until more information is released to the public. I look forward to covering these games when I get the time to do so.
