Nintendo News: Nintendo Direct Mini 3/26/2020

Yesterday, Nintendo dropped a Nintendo Direct Mini without announcing it ahead of time. Today, I will list the games announced, along with the release dates mentioned here. Any game covered in greater detail will have some of those details listed here. I should note that the direct has mentioned that covid-19 concerns may delay some of these games, so it is best to stay tuned for future updates from Nintendo or the respective developers for more up to date release dates. I will also give some impressions of the more noteworthy games mentioned here at the end of the article. Let’s take a look.

  • Xenblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases on May, 29 2020.
    • This game also features a new epilogue.
  • The developer 2K will be bringing some games to the Nintendo Switch on May, 29 2020 including:
    • Bioshock the Collection.
    • Borderlands Legendary Collection.
    • Xcom 2 Collection.
  • New details on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3’s Expansion Pass.
    • The third portion of the Expansion Pass is available now.
  • Shinsekai: Into the Depths is available now.
  • There is a free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons later in April.
    • There is an Easter themed event from April 1-12.
  • Good Job! is available now.
  • Catherine: Full Body releases July 7, 2020.
  • Ring Fit Adventure gets an update (available now) featuring a rhythm game mode, and other features.
  • King’s Bounty II releases in 2020.
  • Fighter number 6 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass 2 will be from the game Arms. Announcement and release date will be in June 2020.
  • Arms gets a free trial from March 26 to April 6 2020 for Nintendo Switch Online members only.
  • Bravely Default II gets a free demo today, game releases in 2020.
  • Club House Games Worldwide Classics features 51 board, card, and other classic games. It releases June 5, 2020.
  • Ninjala releases May 27, 2020. This game is Free-to-play.
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy releases March 26, 2020.
  • Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is coming soon.
  • Panzer Dragoon: Remake is available now.
  • Trials of Mana releases April 24, 2020.
  • Fuser comes in Fall 2020.
  • Elder Scrolls: Blades comes in Spring 2020.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus comes in May 2020.
  • Vigor has a closed beta in April 9, 2020.
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered comes in 2020.
  • Saints Row :IV – Re-elected releases March 27, 2020.
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III releases June 30, 2020.
  • Mr. Driller DrillLand releases June 25, 2020.
  • Minecraft Dungeons comes in Spring 2020.
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Expansion Pass part 1 releases by the end of June 2020. part 2 releases in the fall. If you Here’s some more details:
    • Part 1: The Isle of Armor has these features:
    • A Dojo grants the player the Pokemon Kubfu.
    • You can challenge the Towers of Two Fists.
      • There is the Tower of Darkness and the Tower of Waters, you choose one.
      • You can only use Kubfu in these challenges.
      • The tower you choose determines which style of Urshifu it evolves into.
    • The Galar starters, Rillaboom, Cinderace, or Inteleon get a Gigantamax form for adventuring in the Isle of Armor.
      • These G-Max moves are stronger than other Dynamax moves, and ignore the target’s abilities when calculating damage.
    • There are new outfits, hairstyles, and league card options.
    •  If you purchase the pass by August 31, you get new clothes, Leon’s cap and tights.

And that wraps up the announcements for the Nintendo Direct Mini. I feel there were some good announcements here, but much of the information involves games I am unlikely to play. I was most interested in the DLC for Super Smash Bro.s Ultimate, the Bravely Default II demo, and the details of the Pokemon Expansion Pass. There wasn’t too much here, but it was a mini direct, so there should be fewer major announcements to begin with. I am still satisfied with the amount of content, and have some things to look forward to.
