Well, as of today (September 19, 2018), the Nintendo Switch Online service is up. Along with it is the Nintendo Entertainment System, which allows you to play classic NES games at no additional charge. You do need to apply for the Nintendo Switch Online service, either the paid plan, or the 7 day free trial, but the selection of games do not require extra payment. Here is what is available right now, with more on the way:

- Balloon Fight
- Baseball
- Donkey Kong
- Double Dragon
- Dr. Mario
- Excitebike
- Ghosts n’ Goblins
- Gradius
- Ice Climber
- Ice Hockey
- Mario Bros.
- Pro Wrestling
- River City Ransom
- Soccer
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Tecmo Bowl
- Tennis
- The Legend of Zelda
- Yoshi
All games have an option to create suspend points (up to four total), local multiplayer (2-players, if the game has that feature), and online play with friends. That last one is neat, as you can play any of the available games while waiting on another player. Then the two of you get to play whichever game you agree on. I have yet to try this feature out, but it looks smooth so far. This is a neat feature of the online service, and can be worth getting the subscription, especially if you know others who want to play these games with you. The online service also allows online play for all Switch games that have it, plus cloud storage for most switch games.
That was a quick overview of the Nintendo Entertainment System via the Nintendo Switch Online service. I intend to post updates as new games are added to the service. Would you like me to review the games here? Are any of these a personal favorite? Have you tried these games online yet? Let me know in the comments below!
