An Update About That’s All Games in 2021

It has been a while since That’s All Games has had a post. This is due to my having some noticeable health issues for roughly the past two months that limited my ability to create new content. Since I am the only one writing for That’s All Games, this has been a major hit to posts on this site. I feel an explanation is due.

So, without getting too personal, I had been suffering from some mental health issues, as well as chronic tension headaches. The tension headaches are starting to improve with treatment, as well as the addition of recently acquired glasses. Since these headaches are light sensitive, it made it very difficult to focus on writing on a computer screen. I have had these sort of headaches in the past, and I know that I need to avoid computer screens as much as possible to limit their impact. Luckily, they are getting better, and I am now ready to start writing again, and to return to form on That’s All Games.

As a quick caveat, if they do not improve enough, my posts may be inconsistent at first. The general rule moving forward is that any written post will go live on Fridays. This will include reviews, news articles, game story case studies, and Pokémon starter challenge runs or other video game based articles as they come to mind.

The current plan for Twitch streams will be on Monday evenings at roughly 7pm eastern time, with the VODs being uploaded on YouTube and this website on the following day. A more casual Twitch stream will be on the weekend, going live on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at 7pm eastern time, schedule dependent. The YouTube upload will be the day after, if practical to do so.

So now I would like to announce what I have planned for the next few articles. For reviews, I have the Scott Pilgrim game’s review outlined, and it just needs to be written in full for the next review. This should go up in two weeks from now. I am also close to completing Bravely Default II, with presumably only two more endings to go. Once I finish that game, that review will go up. I had anticipated it taking a while to finish, but these health issues significantly delayed this review. I also have to start playing Bug Fables, which I got at a discount on the Nintendo eShop. When the time comes, more games will be reviewed, but which games will be reviewed afterwards is up in the air.

The next article will be my personal top 10 video games. I feel that it would be a good way to reintroduce my taste in video games, and that should go live one week after this current post goes live. Other planned articles include The Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Starter run, whenever it is finished, and when I have nothing else planned for the week, my Game Story Case Study of Final Fantasy IX, which will be written in several parts. All news articles will arrive as major news stories come up in any given week.

The next Twitch stream will be a continuation of my live let’s play of Super Mario World, where I aim to get roughly 100% of the game complete. Other let’s plays will feature games that have already been reviewed, or that are hard to review. Meanwhile, a more casual stream will go live on weekends, and the game played will vary from month to month. Starting in July, I will stream Dynamax Adventures from Pokémon Sword and Shield, with the next casual game to be announced for August.

Before I go, here are some future games I hope to cover:

  • Metroid Dread
  • Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp
  • Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus
  • Splatoon 3
  • And plenty more that don’t have release dates yet, or haven’t been announced.

With that being said, I hope to get back into blogging and to be healthy enough to do so. Thank you for reading this update, and I appreciate your understanding and patience shown in the following months.
