Pokemon News: Pokemon Week, 2022


From February 21, 2022 till Pokémon day, February 27, 2022, there were several game updates and announcements concerning various Pokémon games. Today, I’ll cover them all so you can find the details all at once. It’s kind of amazing that this game series has lasted 26 years, so let’s see how the Pokémon company celebrated.

February 21, 2022 Pokémon Masters EX:

This game is celebrating 2.5 years of content. New features include a new sync pair May and Latias, as well as Victory Road.

February 22, 2022 Pokémon Sword and Shield:

A new batch of max raid bosses, including Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise will be present in the game. This promotion ended on February 27, 2022.

February 23, 2022 Pokémon Café Remix:

The Shiny Starly event went live this day. In addition, there was a login bonus of 26 stamina, and if they logged in on Pokémon day, they get the login bonus that leads to the special outfit Bulbasaur celebratory crown. This promotion lasted February 23, 2022 through February 27, 2022.

February 24, 2022 Pokémon Unite:

A new playable Pokémon Hoopa was added to the game, as well as event missions that allow you to obtain it till March 15, 2022. The new battle mode Full Fury mode was added on Pokémon day.

February 25, 2022 P25 Music:

The final track for P25 Music called Reconnect by Yaffle was released.

February 26, 2022 Pokémon Go:

The second annual Pokémon Go Tour went live, featuring Pokémon from Johto, and includes special research and masterwork research.

February 27, 2022 Pokémon Presents:

Here’s the list of announcements on this day’s Pokémon Presents:

  • Pokémon Go: Pokémon from Sun and Moon will start appearing in game starting on March 1, 2022. Until that point, Alolan Exeggutor will appear in the game.
  • Pokémon Masters EX: The new feature, Victory Road was announced and detailed. Some new Sync Pairs were announced, including May and Latias, Skyla and Tornadus, and Raihan and Flygon. Login to scout 100 sync pairs for free and 3,000 gems.
  • Pokémon Café Remix: A new feature called deliveries will be added to the game. Additional new Pokémon and outfits will be added to the game, including Victini. There will be a new puzzle mode as well. 3 new events will be part of the celebration as well.
  • Pokémon Unite: Full Fury battles were mentioned. On certain days, you can try out any Pokémon currently in the game. Hoopa is added to the roster. Some bonus fashion items are available in this game as well. Duraludon will be added to the game in the future.
  • Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: The item, Oak’s Letter, which allows you to obtain Shaymin will be distributed in the game till March 27, 2022.
  • Pokemon Legends Arceus: The new free update called Daybreak (now available), features new missions and other features. A new mystery gift grants 30 Ultra, Jet, and Gigaton Balls using this code: ARCEUSADVENTURE.
  • An online animated series set in the Hisui region is in production.
  • The games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were announced. According to the website, the game is open world, and features the Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Also, the outfit your avatar starts with is different between the two games.

And that is it. Some announcements were both placed throughout the week and in the presentation, most were content updates. The announcement of Scarlet and Violet was the highlight of the celebration. It remains to be seen how good these games are (it was just announced, so we don’t know yet), and most of the features have yet to be announced. I look forward to seeing what the game has to offer.
