That’s All Games’s 2018 Year End Review

Best reviews:

The top review has to go to my favorite comic book review of Bone by Jeff Smith Review (Single Volume, Comic Book Series) This series of comics was astounding, and one I keep coming back to.

If you haven’t read the original series of Bone comics, I highly recommend it

The next highest review was of the recent Review: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch). I felt that this game was the most fun, and the best product I reviewed that was released in 2018.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the best game I played in 2018. It is best with other players, and offers a lot of fun that you can return to any time.

The next best review was my Review: Octopath Traveler (Switch). This JRPG made me excited for the genre once again. I still love turn based RPGs, but this is the best I played in recent memory.

This was a great RPG. Sorry it took so long to review it!

Worst reviews:

Here are the lowest scores I gave this year. Keep in mind, these are not necessarily bad products, but were the ones that gave me the least value of those covered this year. Let’s start with this year’s Review: Pokemon Quest (Switch).

Pokemon Quest took a while to cover too. Sadly, the free to play model, and the fact the game was mostly on auto-pilot hindered some otherwise unique ideas.

Next on this list was my Review: Ittle Dew 2+ (Switch). This game barely made this list. This game got too difficult, too quickly, plus the writing was lazy. With more polish, this could have been a really good game.

Ittle Dew 2+ had lazy writing for a video game. It was fun in a retro NES game way, but was too hard for modern tastes.

Finally, the one book that made this list was from my Book Review: Star Wars: Phasma (Delilah S. Dawson). Again, not a bad book, but it felt like it could have been much more.

Star Wars Phasma needed to delve more into character motivation to really shine. Otherwise, it was cleanly written

  1. I was disappointed that Captain Phasma turned out to be such a zero in the movies, especially since they got the same actress who plays Brienne in Game of Thrones and she’s great in that. She was just wasted. Didn’t make me motivated to read a book about the character, to be honest.
